From Juan Santamaria’s Airport go to Puntarenas easily to take the ferry to Paquera. When you arrive to Paquera keep going trough the main route to Tambor (Tambor Airport), Cobano and Santa Teresa. Driveway has signs you can't loose the track. At Cobano, continue straight through (Banco Nacional on your left), you will cross a bridge and after 1km turn to the left at the crossroad. After around 30 minutes, you will get to “The Crossroad” where "Mal Pais" is to the left & “Santa Teresa” to the right. Just turn right and keep going, passing two bridges until "Super Costa" on the right, you'll find our gate just 100m ahead on the left.

BY PLANE

There is a new domestic terminal at the Juan Santamaria's airport in Alajuela. There are 4 flights a day from San José to Tambor. From Tambor you will have to take a taxi to Ranchos Itauna.

WITH THE BUS

Bus from San Jose at the station called “7/10”. Departures form San Jose at 6:00a.m. and 14:00p.m. Buy the ticket at the second floor and save it for your return to the bus at Paquera. The bus takes you directly to Playa Santa Teresa. At Puntarenas ticket is included for the ferry to Paquera, bus is crossing on the ferry too so don't worry about your luggage. Once the ferry arrives to Paquera you can wait for the bus outside the station. They will ask for the bus ticket to let you get in. At Cobano the bus continues the trip to “El Cruce” (Mal Pais Crossroad) Mal Pais – Santa Teresa. The whole trip with ferry takes around 6 hours and cost approx. $20 per person.
